Allie and A.I.

I have been a administrative generalist for the last 20 years, performing and refining that craft in various spaces like finance and healthcare. It became quite rote, though it was still challenging and a lot of fun for me. Yet, as time passed, I realized that technological advancements in the workplace would, at some point, leave my position quite obsolete. That advancement was A.I.

Although we are not in need of Arnold Schwarzenegger or in fear of Cyberdyne Systems creating Skynet, Artificial Intelligence is being assimilated into our daily lives. It predicts our behavior to curate content through algorithms on the social media app we use as well as present to us goods and services at record speed. The same goes for business. Virtual Assistants utilize AI to automate some mundane tasks like email campaigns and meeting scheduling. Though AI can make our jobs easier, programs are not sentient and need monitoring, which, for the time being, need a human touch to be useful.
